The SFA pitching took center stage against the Islanders as they held the Islanders to just seven total runs over the series while combining for 19 strikeouts. The Bulldogs will return home for their final home series against the Liberty University Flames following their game Tuesday night against SFA.
Scouting Report-Lumberjacks:
Alexis Telford continues to dazzle in the circle for the Lumberjacks, taking home SLC Pitcher of the Week honors, as she held the Islanders to just three hits and a single unearned run, while striking out eight batters to help lock down a series opening win for SFA. Brooke Gainous, Reagan Hall, and Jordyn Ages followed suit of Telford over the remainder of the series as Gainous limited the Islanders to just two runs over 5.1 innings with four strikeouts, while Ages pitched 1.2 scoreless frames in the circle, before Hall allowed just three runs over six innings with four strikeouts of her own in the series finale. Ellie Vance was the star of the SFA offense over the weekend as she extended her hitting streak to six games, recorded three RBIs, and tallied a pair of multi-hit efforts over the series.
