Athletic Communications Internship

- The SFA athletic communications student intern program is designed to allow full-time students the opportunity to contribute to the overall operation and execution of the communication efforts for the 19 sport programs at SFA.
- The position includes, but is not limited to, general office and research projects, staffing home athletic events, feature content writing and statistical operations.
- No prior experience is necessary.
Fan Experience/Gameday Crew Internship

• Assist the SFA Athletics Fan Experience staff in the planning, development and coordination of marketing, promotional and fan experience efforts for all 19 sport programs, during the 2025-26 sports season.
• Assist in managing of the kids club, campus events, and special events
• Work sporting events and assist in fan experience efforts for SFA Athletics.
• Assist in selected Athletics Charitable Requests
• Complete a minimum weekly office hours and assist in carrying out assigned in office responsibilities.
• Attend scheduled weekly Fan Experience Staff Meetings
• Distribute posters and schedule cards to assigned locations, and check for refills on a bi-weekly basis.
Event Management & Game Operations Internship

- Assist in the day to day management and operational support of all athletic department sponsored contests, games, and events and the facilities that these activities and events are held in.
- Reports facility repair and maintenance issues during games and events to the Coordinator of Athletic Facility Maintenance.
- Will report event, game, and facility operations emergencies to supervisors and respond to these emergencies as required.
- Experience the daily duties and game day responsibilities for game operations.
Social & Digital Media Internship

- Assist the Director of Social and Digital Strategy with the development and execution of the social media content strategy for the main athletics Facebook, Instagram, and X/Twitter accounts for the 2025-26 season.
- Provide social coverage on gamedays, community events, and other events as needed for social accounts.
- Create and implement weekly social media plans to promote home events.
- Prepare social media analytic reports to evaluate relevant metrics to help assess content plans for SFA sports programs.
Creative Content Internships

- Assist the creative content staff in event coverage including press conferences, photo and video shoots, game coverage and interviews.
- Edit graphics, photos and videos for social media and videoboard shows.
- Attend intern staff meetings and occasional sport-specific external staff meetings.
Corporate Partnerships (Learfield Sports Properties) Internship

- Assist with the execution of in-game promotions, fan engagement activities, and on-field presentations
- Help set up and tear down marketing materials, sponsor signage, and activation areas on game days
- Coordinate with sponsors and vendors to ensure smooth game day operations and fulfillment
- Support social media content creation, including capturing behind-the-scenes photos and videos
- Distribute promotional items and manage fan giveaways
- Serve as a liaison between the marketing team and other departments (ticketing, operations, etc.)
- Contribute to planning and brainstorming sessions for marketing campaigns and special events
- Track fan engagement metrics and assist with post-game recaps and reports
- Assist with maintaining and organizing marketing inventory and promotional assets
- Provide outstanding customer service and represent the department in a professional manner at all times
Purple Lights Fund Internship
