Lumberjacks Wrap up 2026 Season at SLC Bracket Play

LAKE CHARLES, La.- The Stephen F. Austin softball team faced the No. 3 seeded Nicholls Colonels in their second elimination game of the day, Saturday night.
Nicholls got a jump on the Jacks early with two runs in both the first and second innings. SFA got one run on the board in the top of the third after Becerra hit a fly ball out to right which was dropped by the right fielder which allowed Ellie Vance to score from first, 4-1. The Colonels scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a commanding 11-1 lead. Nicholls kept the SFA offense at bay after the Jacks had runner on first and second with one out to secure an 11-1 win.

• Ellie Vance led the team with two hits.
• Morgan Wright, Malia Jones, and Lilly Bean each recorded a hit.
