HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program heads to enemy territory to take on rival Sam Houston. The Ladyjacks are going for their fifth straight win and a chance to take over the top spot in the WAC standings.
Ladyjacks Statistical Analysis
The Ladyjacks remain one of the top teams in the WAC as they sit second in the standings, but with the best overall record at 16-3.
SFA ranks top ten in the nation in the following statistics: assists per game (6th), field goal percentage (6th), and scoring margin (9th). Each one being first in the conference.
Avery Brittingham dominates the court when it comes to getting the rebounds as she accounts for 20% of the Ladyjacks total rebounds and leads the team with 152. She has 49 more rebounds than the next best in line.
After Destini Lombard's stellar performance last game, she now has the second best field goal percentage on the team with 57% (with minimum 100 attempts) and has the best three-point percentage on the team with 42%.

The Ladyjacks outscored the Bearkats 20-9 in the first quarter and shot an efficient 75 percent (9-for-12) from the field. The SFA defense was just as impressive and held SH to 16.7 percent (3-for-18) shooting from the floor and forced 11 turnovers.
Becky Hammon Award semi-finalist Stephanie Visscher dropped a game-high 20 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the floor. The 6-footer also grabbed five boards and handed out three assists.
Zya Nugent scored 12 points and hauled in five boards, while Aiyana Johnson and Brianna Mitchell each helped out with 10 points. Tasharian Robinson added nine points.
As a team, SFA shot 47.4 percent (27-for-57) from the field, while holding SH to 33.3 percent (21-for-63) from the floor.

Stephen F. Austin defeated UT Arlington 85-72, Saturday afternoon. SFA improved to 16-3 (6-1) while UTA falls 9-11 (3-5).
The score was tied three times in the first quarter as the teams traded blows, but the Ladyjacks came out on top 25-20. UTA continued to fight in the second quarter, but SFA took the lead with 6:31 left in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 48-40 lead. The Ladyjacks scored the first three points of the third quarter to extend their lead to 11, and hovered around the double digit lead mark until UTA scored the final two buckets of the quarter to cut the lead down to five, 64-59. SFA started the fourth with a 6-0 spurt to regain their 11 point lead. The Ladyjacks continued to fight off the Mavericks while maintaining their lead for the rest of the game.
SFA led UTA in multiple stat categories; points off turnovers (19-18), fast break (22-14), bench points (34-7), field goal percentage (53.7-39.1), and three-point percentage (35.0-14.3). Aiyana Johnson led the team with 19 points which is her sixth game in a row with double-digit points. Johnson was followed by Destini Lombard who scored a career-high 18 points, and Jordan Harrisonscored 15 points. Zoe Nelson led the team with 11 rebounds which ties her career-high, followed by Johnson and Avery Brittingham who each recorded five. Harrison once again led the Ladyjacks with eight assists, followed by Angel Scott who recorded six which ties her career-high. Scott also led SFA with four steals which is the fourth time this season she has recorded four steals in a single game.
