
Jacks Fall to Cowgirls in Regular Season Finale

LAKE CHARLES, La.- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program wrapped up the regular season at the site of the Southland Conference Tournament against the McNeese Cowgirls.
McNeese scored the first four points before SFA took a slim 5-4 lead with 7:08 left in the first. After that the Cowgirls went on a 12-0 tear to take a commanding 16-5 lead with 33 seconds left. McNeese went into the first quarter break with an 18-8 lead.
The Cowgirls continued to extend their lead to 20 after a 10-0 run to begin the second quarter. Both teams traded baskets the rest of the quarter as McNeese went into the locker room at halftime with a 38-19 lead.
In the third quarter, the Ladyjacks started on a 7-2 spurt to cut the lead down to 14 with 8:35 left. The Cowgirls continued to bring their lead back up to the twenty's and extend it to 26 at the end of the quarter, 67-41.
McNeese eventually grew their lead to 30 with 7:08 left in the fourth quarter. With 3:59 left in the game, SFA went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 25. The Cowgirls went on to win the game, 87-60.
POSTGAME NOTES
• McNeese sweeps the season series against SFA and breaks a seven-game win streak.
• Kaylinn Kemp and Myka Perry led the team with 12 points each.
• Key Roseby led the team with seven rebounds.
• Harmanie Dominguez scored three three-pointers which puts her three away from breaking the single season threes record.
UP NEXT
The Ladyjacks have clinched the No. 3 seed in the SLC Conference Tournament and will play a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. SFA will face the winner of No. 6 UIW Cardinals and No. 7 seed.
