
Lumberjacks' Season Comes to an End at Southland Conference Tournament

HAMMOND, La.- The Stephen F. Austin softball team (27-29) faced off against No. 3 seeded Nicholls Colonels (31-23) for the second time in three days in the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket.
The 'Jacks started the game off with a bang as Mikaelah Burkland hit a leadoff home run on the fourth pitch of the game, 1-0. However, Nicholls responded in a big way with six runs in the bottom of the first inning, 6-1. The Colonels did not stop there as they tacked on two more in the second to extend their lead to 8-1. In the bottom of the fourth, Nicholls plated three runs to take an 11-1 lead. Down to their last three outs of the season, SFA was unable to score three runs to keep the game going.

• Kaylee Paul: 1-2
SFA finished the 2025 season with three all-conference selections, two conference pitcher of the week awards, and secured the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament. Six 'Jacks finished the season batting over .300, led by Kaylee Paul's .442 average. Elli Vance led the team with 20 stolen bases. Adelyn Becerra led the team with eight home runs while Kyi'Marri Ester led the team with 28 RBIs.
