Lumberjacks at a Glance:
The Lumberjacks took care of business at home on Tuesday evening as they hosted the Prairie View A&M Panthers and rallied back from a 5-1 deficit in the fifth inning with a five-run inning seventh inning to help lift them over the Panthers 9-6 and help snap their losing skid to secure their seventh home win of the campaign. The Lumberjack offense continues to pour on the runs within the friendly confines of Pilgrim's Park as they totaled their seventh home game this season with at least seven runs. The SFA batting order displayed immense discipline at the plate on Tuesday evening as they draw a mind-boggling 18 walks as a team, a new season-high, while recording their third game this season with double-digit walks drawn in a game. The Lumberjacks will now look to carry over the confidence and patience from their midweek win into this weekend series against the Colonels as they look to continue to gain ground in the Southland standings.
Colonels at a Glance:
The Nicholls State Colonels return home for this weekend to host SFA following a four-game road trip that saw the Colonels snap a losing streak of their own with a commanding 14-6 win over the Jackson State Tigers on Tuesday evening in Jackson, Mississippi. The Colonels totaled 10 hits, 14 runs, and 10 walks in the win over the Tigers as they took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
