‘Jacks Shutout by Lions in Series Finale

HAMMOND, La.- The Stephen F. Austin softball team (23-22, 12-9 SLC) finished their series against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (37-11, 17-4 SLC) Saturday afternoon.
The 'Jacks got on base in the first with a leadoff single from Mikaelah Burkland, then Hope Lusk reached on a fielder's choice bunt. Ellie Vance followed with a single to left center which sent Lusk to third to put runners on the corners. Vance stole second to put both runners in scoring position, but back-to-back strikeouts ended the top of the first. Southeastern got on the board in the bottom of the second, 2-0. The Lions tacked on a run in the third and the fourth, 4-0. All pitchers were lights out at the end of the game with neither team surrendering another run.

• Reagan Hall: 5.0 IP, four runs, three strikeouts
SFA will return home for a midweek matchup with Prairie View A&M on Tuesday, April 15th at 5:30 p.m.
