
SFA Welcomes Five Lumberjacks to the Soccer Program

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin soccer program is excited to announce the signing of five student-athletes for the upcoming 2026 season.
KYLEE BROWN- DEFENDER
Kylee Brown is joining SFA from Round Rock, Texas. She currently plays for Stony Point High School and Lonestar Club Soccer. Kylee was a part of the GA Select Showcase during her junior year, was named to the Second Team her sophomore year, and Honorable Mention her freshman year. During Kylee's time at SFA, she intended to study Kinesiology.
Head Coach Ashley Whittemore stated, "Kylee is a tough, competitive defender who plays with consistency and grit. Her work rate and competitive drive fit perfectly with the culture we're building at SFA, and we can't wait to see the impact she'll make.".
SYDNEY ROBINETT- GOALKEEPER
Sydney Robinett comes from Houston, Texas. Robinett currently plays for both Bridgeland High School and Albion Hurricanes FC. During her 2022-23 season, Sydney was named the Newcomer of the Year in high school, alongside being named to the All-State Second Team. In the 2023-24 season, Sydney landed a spot on the TASCO All-Region First Team while earning District Goalkeeper of the Year. The next year, in 2024-25, Robinett was named again as the District Goalkeeper of the Year. While playing at SFA, Sydney plans to major in entrepreneurship.
When asked about Robinett, Coach Whittemore responded, "Sydney is an excellent goalkeeper with great hands and outstanding shot-stopping ability. She's consistently working to refine her game and has the drive and competitiveness that will elevate our goalkeeper group and our team.".
SAVANNA OBERHOLTZER- FORWARD
Savanna Oberholtzer is joining SFA Soccer from Canyon Lake, Texas. Savanna currently plays for Canyon Lake High School and Classics Elite Soccer Academy. In 2023, Savanna was an All-American Cheerleader and was involved in track & field. Savanna was on the All-District Second Team and the long jump District Champion. Oberholtzer was a 100-yard dash Area Champion and an Area qualifier in long jump and triple jump. Savanna was a regional qualifier for the 100-yard dash and triple jump, and long jump, as well. During the 2024 season, Savanna was an All-American Cheerleader, while being named the district 26-4A MVP, along with being named as a TASCO All-State First Team. Oberholtzer was also a part of the Express News Player of the Week and All-Area Super Team, scoring 55 goals and setting a school record. Savanna was a District Champion in the 100-yard dash, an Area Champion in the 100-yard dash, and an area qualifier for long jump, triple jump, and 4x100 relay. Alongside that, Savanna was a regional qualifier in the 100-yard dash, long jump, triple jump, and 4x100 relay. During the 2025 season, Savanna was an All-American Cheerleader, while winning the District Championship in the long jump, and qualifying for the Area in the 100-yard dash, long jump, triple jump, and both 4x100 and 4x200 relay. Oberholtzer was a regional qualifier for the 100-yard dash, long jump, triple jump, 4x100, and 4x200. Savanna was a state qualifier for the 100-yard dash, 4x100, and 4x200. Savana also hit the 100-career goal mark, being named District 26-4A Offensive MVP and TASCO All-Region First Team. Alongside Savanna's previous accolades, Oberholtzer was named an Express News Athlete and Player of the Week, while earning the Austin American-Statesman Player of the Year award. To conclude 2025, Savanna earned the Top All-American award at the NCA Camp and the Top Leadership Award.
Head Coach Ashley Whittemore shared her thoughts on Savanna, stating, "Savanna is an exceptional all-around athlete with tremendous pace and a natural ability to find the back of the net. Her speed, competitiveness, and instinct in the final third will make her a dangerous attacking threat and a great addition to our program.".
ADDY FENTON- MIDFIELDER
Addy Fenton is joining SFA as a midfielder from Sulphur Springs, Texas. Addy currently plays for Sulphur Springs High School and FC Dallas. During Fenton's 2024-2025 season, Addy earned First Team All-Region 2-4A, and ECNL-RL All-Conference. Alongside that, in 2024-25, Addy was named the 4A Region 2 District Offensive Player of the Year.
Coach Ashley Whittemore had this to say about Addy: "Addy is a creative and intelligent central midfield player who can dictate the rhythm of the game. Her vision, technical ability, and composure on the ball make her a great fit for our style of play and an exciting addition to our midfield.".
KENSLEY SMITH- FORWARD / MIDFIELDER
Kensley Smith is joining SFA from Leander, Texas. Smith played high school soccer for Leander High School and club soccer for Lonestar SC. During Kensley's time at Leander, Smith was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Texas IV-5A District during her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Coach Ashley Whittemore said, "Kensley is a creative and competitive attacking mid or forward with a great instinct for both scoring and creating goals. Kensley's vision, technical ability, and drive to compete make her an exciting addition to our attacking group and a great fit for our program's style of play".
