Ladyjacks hold Warhawks scoreless in second half despite 2-0 final
MONROE, La. — SFA lost to ULM 2-0 on Thursday. After allowing two first-half goals, SFA held ULM scoreless in the second half and generated six of its seven shots after halftime.
SFA fell behind in the first half when ULM scored on Jenni Huttunen's goal at 28:06, assisted by Charli Harris, and added an Ines De Lope Casanova goal at 31:40 to make it 2-0. Brandie Musser made three saves for SFA, while the Ladyjacks chances included a corner kick in the 18th minute and Kailey Stringfellow's shot in the 35th. ULM took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
SFA's clearest second-half chance came in the 83rd minute, but Amélie Prié missed a penalty kick with the score still 2-0. SFA pressed late with shots from Kensley Smith, Addy Fenton and Keira Truofreh between 82:00 and 88:32, with Fenton's attempt saved by Jen Handy. Sydney Robinett made two saves after halftime, and the half ended scoreless as SFA fell 2-0.
Musser recorded three saves in 45 minutes while facing 10 shots. Robinett added two saves over 45 scoreless minutes. Fenton put one shot on goal.
SFA is 1-5-0 overall. ULM is 3-3-1 overall.

The Ladyjacks move to 7-2-2 in the series against ULM. This becomes the first loss since the 2004 season when the Ladyjacks were downed in a 2-1 final.
