Chappelle scores in 3-1 loss to the Bulldogs
NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The Stephen F. Austin State University women's soccer team (1-4-0) fell to Louisiana Tech (2-2-1), 3–1, on Sunday at the SFA Soccer Field. Despite outshooting the Bulldogs with 28 attempts and 10 on target, the Ladyjacks managed only one goal in the second half of the match.
The match started with SFA demonstrating offensive intent, as the pair of Carlie Thurmond and BB Bonzheim each attempted shots within the opening minutes. With early efforts from SFA, Louisiana Tech was able to take the lead four minutes into the match with a goal by Juliette Starck, assisted by Abby Hanton. The Ladyjacks continued to apply pressure, with Kamrynn Davis having a notable shot saved at 24:16.
Midway through the first half, SFA and Brandie Musser faced defensive challenges as Louisiana Tech extended its advantage to 2–0 with a goal by Madison Pensom, receiving assists from both Hanton and Starck. SFA's goalkeeper, Brandie Musser, made several crucial saves, including a penalty kick miss by former Ladyjacks Brielle Buchanan at 28:41. The Ladyjacks went into the half with a 2-0 deficit to the Bulldogs.

Leslie Razo led the team with eight shots, with one on target. Musser made five saves during her 45 minutes in goal, facing 11 shots.
