Musser notches new career high for saves against the Aggies
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — SFA lost to Texas A&M 4-0 on Sunday at Ellis Field. SFA was held to two shots, including one on goal, and recorded nine saves while Texas A&M finished with 33 shots and 13 on goal.
SFA absorbed sustained Texas A&M pressure in the first half before Bella Carapazza scored in the 18th minute off a Finley Lacher assist for a 1-0 Texas A&M lead. Brandie Musser kept SFA within one with three saves, including stops at 30:04 and 33:53, and SFA went into halftime trailing 1-0.
Texas A&M added three second-half goals, with Ireland Churchill scoring at 50:24, Finley Lacher at 58:55 and Trinity Buchanan at 63:24 to make it 4-0. Musser made three saves before the first of those goals and added another at 64:23, while Leslie Razo recorded SFA's two shots in the half, including an 83:14 attempt saved by Adelaide Paredes that led to a corner kick. Sydney Robinett made two saves in the final nine minutes, and SFA fell 4-0.
Musser recorded seven saves over 72:57 in goal for SFA. Robinett added two saves in 17:03 without allowing a goal. Razo led SFA with two shots, putting one on frame.
SFA is 1-6-0 overall. Texas A&M is 4-3-0 overall.
SERIES HISTORY
The Ladyjacks trail in the series with a 0-6-1 record. The Aggies recorded their first shutout win since 2014 and fifth shutout victory in the series.
