
Swift Powers Team White to Game 3 Win as Elimination is Avoided

Team captain leaves yard twice, tallies six RBI to force Sunday’s Game 4
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Team White needed Thursday's Game 3 to extend Stephen F. Austin baseball's fall world series and the squad received a two-homer, six-RBI effort from team captain Julian Swift in addition to 3.1 strong innings from Adrian Rubio who finished with six punch outs and the win as elimination was avoided and Sunday's Game 4 is now necessary. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Game 3
White wins 11-5
Team White has outhit Team Purple 28-15 and on Thursday night it translated into runs as the former plated 11 on a dozen knocks including four from Swift who left the yard twice. Team White distanced itself in the sixth with a five-run frame to back Rubio's effort on the bump as he matched Swift's six RBI with six strikeouts.

Purple wins 3-1
For the second straight game, Team White outhit Team Purple, but the latter used the big fly once again as they took a 2-0 series lead. Blane Zeplin claimed the win on the mound, while teammates Josh Ibe and Mark Henning each homered. Reid Bowyer suffered the loss for Team White.
Game 1
Purple wins 5-4
Team Purple plated four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-2 lead, but Team White rallied with two runs in the bottom half to nearly force extra innings in the scheduled seven-inning affair. Brennen Greer earned the W for Team Purple, with Nate Bergeron suffering the loss. Juan Cantua left the yard in the win. Team White outhit Purple 8-4 in the series opener.
