Team Purple Takes 2-0 Series Lead, Eyes Sweep on Thursday

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – After a 5-4 win in the series opener and a 3-1 victory on Wednesday night, Team Purple moved a game away from clinching SFA baseball's Fall World Series. Game 3, the potential clincher for team captains Cody Templeton and Josh Ibe's squad, is set for a 5 p.m. start on Thursday. Admission is free and open to the public.

Game 1
Purple wins 5-4

Team Purple plated four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-2 lead, but Team White rallied with two runs in the bottom half to nearly force extra innings in the scheduled seven-inning affair. Brennen Greer earned the W for Team Purple, with Nate Bergeron suffering the loss. Juan Cantua left the yard in the win. Team White outhit Purple 8-4 in the series opener.

Game 2
Purple wins 3-1

For the second straight game, Team White outhit Team Purple, but the latter used the big fly once again as they took a 2-0 series lead. Blane Zeplin claimed the win on the mound, while teammates Josh Ibe and Mark Henning each homered. Reid Bowyer suffered the loss for Team White.
