'Jacks Drop Game One Against Wildcats in Walk-Off Fashion

ABILENE, Texas- Abilene Christian defeated Stephen F. Austin, 2-1 in the first game of the weekend series. SFA falls to 21-20 (9-7 WAC) while ACU improves to 13-31 (7-9 WAC)
The first scoring came in the bottom of the fourth when ACU took a 1-0 lead. The 'Jacks tied it up in the top of the seventh when Lexi Benson hit a single to right center which scored Sydney Carithers from second. SFA quickly got the first two batters out in the bottom of the seventh, but then walked the next two batters before a walk-off double won the game for ACU.
Five different 'Jacks recorded a hit (Camryn Middlebrook, Benson, Mackenzie Bennett, Kelby Robbins, and Mallory Webb). Brooke Gainous pitched 6.2 innings, allowed four hits, two runs, and struck out two batters.
SFA will play a doubleheader against ACU tomorrow, Saturday, April 22nd at 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
