NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program is looking to go for the season sweep against California Baptist, this time getting the win in front of the home crowd.
Ladyjacks Statistical Analysis
The Ladyjacks remain second in the WAC standings, but still holds the best overall record in the conference. A win Saturday will give the Ladyjacks their sixth straight win and 13th win in the last 14 games.
The 'Jacks are also on a seven-game winning streak at the Coliseum and are looking to collect their tenth home win of the season. Their only home loss this year came against Gonzaga who is currently ranked 17th in the AP Top 25.
Avery Brittingham is heating up at the right time as she has scored double figures in five out of the eight conference matches so far, recording double-doubles in two of those games. Her strong performance last game has jumped her up to 10.2 points per game, tied for third best on the team. She is now one of four Lumberjacks to have more than ten points per game.
A Look at the Lancers
The Lancers are right behind the Ladyjacks in the WAC standings, sitting at third with a 6-2 WAC record. They have a 10-9 overall record and a 3-4 record on the road. The Lancers have seem to hit a hot streak as they have won their last three games in dominating fashion. Their last loss just happened to come against SFA two weeks ago on their home court.
One things about the Lancers is that they're not afraid to take the deep shots. They are ranked third in the country in three-point attempts per game with 29.1. However, only roughly a quarter of those shots make it in as they have a 26.6% three-point percentage. If they're feeling good from beyond the arc, the Ladyjacks will have their work cut out for them to keep up with the Lancers.
Trinity San Antonio has been a problem for opposing defenses since making her return from injury. She has scored double-digit points in her last five matches and has only gotten better by scoring more points than in the previous match. In her last five games, San Antonio scored 10-11-19-20-21. When fully healthy, she has yet to score less than ten points.
Dorcas Wu is another threat on CBU, especially from the three-point line. It's safe to say she carries the team when it comes to the deep shots, having a 40.4% three-point percentage and has made 40 shots beyond the arc, 21 more than the next best on the team. She also leads the team with 107 rebounds and 24 blocks. Wu is the only player on the team with more than seven blocks.
