NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Lumberjacks (12-13, 9-7 SLC) are set to play two midweek games this week, able to capture the first win of the week against the Grambling State Tigers (9-15, 6-3) Tuesday afternoon at Jaycees Field, 10-8. SFA has wins over Oklahoma, UT-Arlington and Grambling State in the non-conference category so far this season and will face No. 4 Texas (20-8, 7-2 Big 12) in Austin tomorrow. The 'Jacks have won nine of its last 11 games.

GAME NOTES
- The 'Jacks tallied eight hits to GSU's seven, batting .286 on the outing
- Cameron Crawford and Chaney Dodge each contributed a 2 RBI home run today
- Jacob Evangelista went 2-2, recording his first RBI of the season
- Seven different Lumberjacks connected on at least one hit
- The 'Jacks utilized eight pitchers on the mound, with Benny Emmons III (2-0) grabbing the win

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first inning of action, Jordan Monacy got things going for the 'Jacks with a groundout RBI to score Cameron Crawford for a 1-0 lead in B-1, but a few SAC RBI's from the TIgers in the second and the third innings allowed them to take a 2-1 lead in the ballgame. The Lumberjacks responded beautifully, garnering a 2 RBI home run from both Cameron Crawford and Chaney Dodge in the third and fourth to reclaim a 5-2 lead after four complete innings.

The SFA lead was extended to 7-2 in the sixth, but the Tigers found a way to climb back with a grand slam in the eighth to score four runs for the Tigers, only edged 7-6 at this point. The Lumberjacks squared away three more runs off a wild pitch and two SAC fly RBI's in the bottom of the eighth to cushion the previous lead, surviving the final two groundout RBI's in the ninth from the Tigers to win it 10-8.
