Lumberjacks Rally in Eighth Inning, Not Enough to Hold Off Nicholls, 8-6

Prior to the eighth inning action, Dodge and Black slammed solo homers to register a run apiece on the board in the third and fourth. Nicholls led 4-2 heading into T5.
With the score at 8-3 (Nicholls) with only one out in the eighth, a 2 RBI single from Jake Zarello allowed another two runs to come through, in addition to an RBI walk from Chaney Dodge to bring in Black for a run. At the end of T8, the Lumberjacks only trailed 8-6, and were able to hold the Colonels scoreless in the inning.
The Colonels made its run back in the seventh inning with four runs for themselves, but four runs combined in the first and second inning was the difference maker in this contest. Nicholls edged SFA in critical categories on the outing, completing eight RBI's, and stole six bases. Seven Colonels' batters were walked tonight as well. Both teams had 10 hits on the night.
The Lumberjacks will face Nicholls again at 3:00 p.m.
