The Zags jumped out to a 7-2 lead early on but five quick points from Zya Nugent helped level the score with 2:26 to go in the quarter. The Ladyjacks held Gonzaga scoreless for 5:18 and didn't allow a field goal in the final 7:20 to close out the first.
The offense on both sides heated up as the game went on. The hosts were able to build a 20-15 advantage but the 'Jacks closed out the half on a 9-2 run, including a last-second jumper from Avery Brittingham off a BriAnna Mitchell inbound pass, to take a 24-22 lead into the break.
Both teams continued to fight a tight battle in the second half, as they were deadlocked at 52 with 2:54 remaining in the fourth quarter. However, Gonzaga ended the game on a 12-2 run from that point on to secure the victory.
