• For its final home game of the 2018 campaign, the Stephen F. Austin baseball team welcomes Big 12 adversary TCU to Jaycees Field Tuesday night for a 6:30 p.m. showdown. The 'Jacks will be hosting the Horned Frogs for the fifth time in program history and the first time since 2014.
• Fresh off of its second Southland Conference series victory of 2018 after taking two out of three from Lamar last weekend, SFA goes gunning for its first non-conference victory in a little over a month. Owning an 8-14 record in non-conference tilts this season, SFA won four non-league games in a row between March 21 and April 10 but has lost back-to-back non-conference games beginning with an 11-6 setback to Arkansas-Pine Bluff (April 17).
• Through his team-best seven-game hitting streak, junior Jake Georgiades is batting .538/.594/.692 with a double, a home run, six RBI and five runs scored. Georgiades' recent hot streak has elevated him to the top of the 'Jacks' batting charts as the College Station, Texas, product possesses a .333 batting average that ranks 11th in the Southland.
• Georgiades also ranks tops among the 'Jacks' ranks in on-base percentage and his mark of .433 is the 12th-best among all Southland Conference players.
• Junior catcher Jarrod Huber is wielding one of the 'Jacks' hottest bats as of late. Huber, who hails from Edgewood, Texas, is batting .333 with four doubles, a homer and four RBI through the last six games. Defensively, Huber has turned into one of the best in the Southland at throwing out runners on the base paths. So far this season, he has caught 20 runners trying to steal which is the third-most in the 13-team league.
• Sophomore outfielder Josh Campbell has been on a tear at the plate as of late, too. The native of Angleton, Texas, is hitting .500/.556/.727 through his last seven games and has racked up 11 hits, four walks, four RBI and a team-best eight runs scored throughout that span.
• SFA's top hitter in non-conference games is freshman outfielder Jared Martin. In non-league games, the Frisco, Texas, product is batting .346/.467/.667 with 28 hits, 15 extra-base hits, 25 runs scored, 18 RBI and 14 walks.
• Martin is the 'Jacks' co-leader in hits with 52 and leads the squad in doubles (17), extra-base hits (23) and runs scored (38). Among all Southland Conference players, he ranks fourth in doubles, 16th in runs scored and 18th in total walks.
• Senior first baseman Josh Evans continues to serve as one of the best power hitters in the Southland Conference. Slashing at .299/.384/.511, the Ponca City, Okla., leads the team and ranks 11th in the Southland Conference in slugging percentage. His 38 RBI and eight home runs represent two more team-leading figures and put him 13th and sixth respectively in the Southland in each of those statistical categories.

• With the home portion of their 2018 schedule in the books, the Horned Frogs head to Nacogdoches for the first time in four years to begin a four-game road trip which will serve as the conclusion of their regular season slate.
• Beginning with a 15-5 victory over SFA on April 24, TCU has won 10 of its last 12 games and included in those 10 triumphs are two each over Big 12 adversaries Texas Tech and West Virginia. All but one of the Horned Frogs' previous 12 games have been played in their home venue of Lupton Stadium.
• TCU has won eighth of its last 10 non-conference games and seven in a row.
• Possessing one of the nation's best pitching staffs, the Horned Frogs lead the Big 12 and rank among the top 40 in all of NCAA Division I baseball in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.91), strikeouts per nine innings (9.7), WHIP (1.26) and walks allowed per nine innings (3.32).
• Josh Watson (.320/.453/.534) and Michael Landestoy (.316/.413/.398) are the only two TCU regulars currently batting above the .300 mark. Watson leads the team in runs scored (48), hits (57), walks (36) and on-base percentage while both he and Landestoy have driven in 30 or more runs this season.
• A.J. Balta is hitting just a shade under .300, currently possessing a slash line of .299/.401/.471. The squad's leader in doubles (14) and extra-base hits (20), Balta also ranks seventh in the Big 12 with his team-leading 44 RBI.
COMING UP NEXT
• For its final three games of the 2018 campaign, SFA heads south to Houston, Texas, to tangle with Southland Conference foe Houston Baptist. The three-game set between the 'Jacks and Huskies gets underway at 2:00 p.m., from Husky Field Thursday afternoon.
