Ladyjacks at a Glance:
The SFA Ladyjacks will play host to Southeastern Louisiana looking to keep a pair of impressive winning streaks alive. The first win streak SFA puts on the line is a 10-game winning streak that has seen the 'Jacks not lose a game in over a month and allow them to cruise through conference play with a flawless 7-0 record. The second win streak on the line on Saturday is one of the most impressive in the entire country as SFA has won 35 consecutive home games at the Pressure Cooker, good for the second longest active streak in the nation behind powerhouse school Nebraska. In their most recent match, SFA dismantled New Orleans in a commanding 3-0 sweep at the Pressure Cooker to push their win streak to 10 and extend their home win streak to 35, giving SFA plenty of momentum and confidence heading into a pivotal match on Saturday.
Lady Lions at a Glance:
As impressive as the Ladyjacks 10-game winning streak, their opponent for Saturday will carry an even more impressive win streak. Southeastern Louisiana started the season 0-4, however since that start, the Lady Lions have rattled off 16 consecutive victories to launch themselves into first place in the Southland with a perfect 8-0 conference record. Over the course of this win streak, the Lady Lions have recorded a sweep in 10 of the 16 wins and have only dropped eight total sets over their last 16 games, including recording a sweep in four consecutive games.
Scouting Report:
Kyanna Creecy etched herself into SFA history in the SFA win over the Privateers by recording a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage in the win to become the first ever Ladyjack to achieve this remarkable feat. Creecy is not the only Ladyjack exploding on offense as a trio of Ladyjacks have at least 200 points on offense this year. Izabella Ortiz leads the way with her 182 kills and 232.5 points, while Katherine Holtman continues to make her presence felt as a freshman with her 173 kills and 200 points, and Camryn Hill completing the trifecta with her 166 kills and 200.5 points. Jayden Flynn continues to dish out assists at will as she leads the squad with 417. Hill has been just as dominant defensively as she has been offensively as she leads the defensive effort with 226 digs, while Kyanna Creecy continues to stuff opposing hitters at the net with her team-leading 76 blocks.
Cicily Hidalgo has powered the Lady Lions offense with her 253 kills and 291.5 points, while Hannah Brewer has formed a solid duo with Hidalgo as she has recorded 151 kills and 201.5 points of her own. Gracie Duplechein and Ashley Richardson have formed a dynamic setter duo for Southeastern as both have accumulated over 300 assists this season. Lexi Gonzalez leads the Lady Lions defense with her 235 digs, while India Bennett leads the effort at the net with her team-high 86 blocks.
Series:
Saturday afternoon will continue the historic rivalry between these two Southland Conference foes. SFA leads the all-time series 39-8 over Southeastern, however, the Lady Lions have gotten the better of SFA recently as they have won the last two meetings including one earlier this season where the Lady Lions pulled off a reverse sweep win over SFA at the Borderland Invitational.
