
Ladyjacks Basketball Adds Two Recruits for 2024 Class

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Basketball Program will continue to add more talent to the team as they announced the signing of two commits for the 2024 recruiting class in Keyera Roseby, and Makana "Cha" Gardner.
Keyera Roseby: 5-11 G
Keyera comes to SFA from Frisco Liberty where she plays as a guard. Keyera carries a plethora of personal awards and achievements with her to the Ladyjacks. As a freshman at Wylie East High School in 2020/21 she was named District Co Newcomver of the Year, named to the Academic All-District Team, the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State Team, and was named the 2020/2021 Dallas Morning News Newcomer of the Year. As a sophomore at Frisco Liberty High School, Keyera was named 6th man of the Year, while also being named to the TABC UIL Girls All Region Team. Her junior year at Frisco Liberty was flooded with achievements and awards. Keyera was named State Champion MVP, named to the All-State Tournament Team, was selected to the District 10-5A First Team, while also being named to the All-Area Girls Basketball First Team. She also received recognition beyond just area recognition as she was named to the 2022-23 UIL Girls All-State and All-Region Teams, as well as being named to the TGCA All-State Team, the THSCA 5A Girls Basketball SuperElite Team, and being named the TGCA All-Star MVP. Keyera will be pursuing a major in Kinesiology while attending SFA.
Keyera had this to say about why she chose SFA, "SFA was definitely the school for me because the awesome program, the amazing people such as the caring & compassionate coaching staff & the welcoming players. The school was also not too far away from home and not too close and I know I will improve and be a better version of myself at SFA."
Makana "Cha" Gardner: 6-4 C
Makana will come to the Pineywoods from Newark Valley High School in Newark Valley, New York. Makana will bring a multitude of personal awards with her to SFA. Makana has been named to the Class C 2nd Team All-State in 2022 as a Junior, while being named to the Class B 2nd Team All-State Team in 2023 as a senior. She has also been named the Regional Player of the Year, awarded Conference MVP, named to the 1st Team All-Conference in 2022-23, and has been awarded Regional Athlete of the Week six times in 2023. Makana has a number of academic awards as well as she was named to the High Honor Role in 2020 and has remained on the Role ever since, while also being a National Honors Society member. Makena will be majoring in Broadcast Journalism at SFA.
