Ladyjacks Softball Adds Seven Signees to 2024 Class

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Ladyjacks Softball team added seven recruits to their 2024 signing class in Alyssa Arnall, Lainee Ballin, Mallory Dwyer, Alexis Grigsby, Sammy Hagman, Reagan Hall, and Jamie Varga.
Alyssa Arnall: OF
Alyssa is an outfielder that currently attends Atascocita High School and is from Humble Texas, she intends to major in Biology/Pre-Med while attending SFA.
This is what coach Jeff Jackson had to say about Alyssa, "Alyssa throws rockets from the outfield and can drive the ball from the left side of the plate. She is very athletic on the field and has the work ethic we look for in all our recruits. I am excited to watch Alyssa run down balls in our outfield, and I know she will be a perfect fit with the rest of this first recruiting class."
Lainee Ballin: MIF
Lainee is a middle infielder from Cuero, Texas that can play all over the infield and currently attends Cuero High School. Lainee will be majoring in Business during her time at SFA.
Coach Jackson said this about Lainee, "Lainee is just about as explosive of an athlete as they come. She can do it all on the field and she is also a very high-level sprinter on Cuero HS's track team who helped set a school record in the 4x100m relay. Lainee will be a huge asset in our infield and bring in a lot of power at the plate."
Mallory Dwyer: C
Mallory is a catcher that is currently homeschooled and comes from Tomball, Texas. Mallory wiol be pursuing a major in Poultry Science during her time at SFA.
Coach Jackson said this about what Mallory will bring to SFA, "Mallory is a very good catcher who controls the game really well behind the plate. She shows great leadership qualities where I see her making this team better with her voice as well as her glove. She brings a lot of power at the plate as well so we are looking to her to help us develop our explosive offense."
Alexis Grigsby: C
Alexis is a catcher who is from Timpson, Texas and is currently homeschooled. Alexis will also be looking to major in Poultry Science while attending SFA.
Here's what Coach Jackson said about Alexis, "Alexis is from right down the road in Timpson and we are fortunate to have someone with her power potential and bat-on-ball ability right here in our own backyard. I am excited to see her develop in our infield, and she is another perfect fit into what we're trying to do with this first recruiting class."
Sammy Hagman: OF
Sammy is an outfielder who will be coming to Nacogdoches from Mansfield, Texas and currently attends Mansfield High School. Sammy will be pursuing a major in Psychology at SFA.
This is what Coach Jackson said about what Sammy will bring to SFA, "We have a lot of really high energy players coming in with this '24 class but Sammy is in a league of her own in that category. She plays with more energy than just about anyone I've ever seen. She is the type of player that makes the game a lot of fun to watch so we are looking for her to bring that energy to make some big plays in our outfield and create a lot of chaos at the plate with her bat."
Reagan Hall: RHP
Reagan is a pitcher that will come to the Pineywoods from Granbury, Texas and will be coming from Ft. Worth Country Day School. Reagan intends to major in Business Management while attending SFA.
Coach Jackson had this to say about Reagan, "Reagan is the lone pitcher we are bringing in with this freshman class and the sky is the limit with her. She will quickly be someone who terrorizes hitters in the WAC and she has the competitiveness to make sure that she doesn't stop there. Look for Reagan to be a key piece in our pitching staff early."
Jamie Varga: MIF
Jamie is a middle infielder that is from Farmersville, Texas and currently attends Farmersville High School. Jamie will be majoring in Mass Communication while at SFA.
Coach Jackson said this about Jamie and what she will bring to the Ladyjacks, "Jamie is a high energy player who will provide a spark in every aspect of the game. She has the ability to play SS with a lot of speed and she swings with good pop from the left side. She will be a nightmare for pitchers to throw to and we're looking forward to her bringing her hard-nosed style of play to the Piney Woods."
