Adelyn Becerra and Ellie Vance Named Second Team All-Southland

Both seniors earn their second consecutive selection to the All-SLC Second Team.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Southland Conference announced the All-Conference Selections, Wednesday afternoon.
Ellie Vance earns her second consecutive selection to the All-Southland Second Team. She leads the team with a .426 batting average which is third in the conference and 65th in the nation. Vance also leads the team in hits with 78 which is tied for first in the conference and ranked sixth nationally. She is tied for the team lead with three triples, third on the team with eight doubles, third with 24 RBIs. Vance is the 22nd toughest batter to strikeout in the nation. She has had an 11-game hitting streak this season and has 16 games with two hits, eight games with three and set a career high against HCU with a four hit game. Vance has also reached base safely in the past 39 games and passed 150 career hits and is seven away from 200 career hits.

Becerra leads the team with 11 doubles, and 40 RBIs which is ranked sixth in the conference. She has recorded 12 games with two hits, three games with three hits, and had a hitting streak of nine-games this season. Becerra has had six games with two RBIs, three games with three RBIs, and one with six RBIs. Her six RBI game against ETAMU set a new season high and was two short of her career high.
