SFA softball sophomore designated player lands spot on Google Cloud Academic All-District® 7 First Team
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The SFA softball team's very own Triniti Kendzior has been tabbed Google Cloud Academic All-District® by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The sophomore designated player has been placed on the Google Cloud Academic All-District® NCAA Division I Softball District 7 First Team, which is comprised of softball players attending schools in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
A kinesiology major at SFA, Kendzior holds a 3.40 cumulative grade point average and is one of three Southland Conference softball players to appear on the Google Cloud Academic All-District® 7 First Team. Joined by Sam Houston State senior pitcher Lindsey McLeod and Houston Baptist senior infielder Demi Janak on the 11-player District 7 First Team, Kendzior is one of only five Southland student-athletes to receive Google Cloud Academic All-District® recognition.
A native of Deer Park, Texas (La Porte HS), Kendzior has made 30 starts for the Ladyjacks as a designated player and seen game action at the plate in 44 total contests this season. With 23 hits on the year, Kendzior has drove in eight runs, scored 13 times and drawn four walks. Registering six doubles in 2019, Kendzior turned in a season-best 3-for-4, four RBI performance at Southeastern Louisiana on March 8. Aiding SFA to a 11-6 conference road win over the host Lady Demons, Kendzior collected a two RBI single in the top of the third and rocked her lone home run of the season, a two-run blast in the top of the sixth.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
