Softball’s Midweek Non-Conference Tilt at Texas Canceled Due to Rain

Ladyjacks’ road game in Austin canceled after rain begins to fall shortly before first pitch

AUSTIN, Texas – With the coaches' meeting at the plate about to get underway heavy rain began to fall at Red & Charline McCombs Field in Austin Tuesday evening, forcing the cancelation of the Stephen F. Austin softball team's midweek non-conference matchup at Texas. The Ladyjacks (17-13) were slated to take on the Longhorns (16-13) for the first time in over five years but the rain started around 5:53 p.m. and forced the field to be tarped.

No makeup date for Tuesday's game has been discussed as SFA will now return home after an eight-game road swing. The Ladyjacks head back to the comforts of the SFA Softball Field this weekend and begin an eight-game homestand starting Friday and Saturday, March 30-31 with a three-game Southland Conference series against rival Sam Houston State. SFA will take on the Bearkats in a doubleheader Friday, March 30 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., before facing Sam Houston State Saturday, March 31 at 12 p.m.
