Softball Announces Date for Texas Southern Game

Ladyjacks will make up their originally scheduled home opener with Texas Southern on Tuesday, May 1 at 3 p.m.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – After Wednesday's Stephen F. Austin softball home opener with Texas Southern was postponed due to unplayable field conditions from all of the recent rain and forecasted inclement weather, a makeup date has been announced.
The Ladyjacks (7-6) will now take on the Lady Tigers (4-3) in Nacogdoches on Tuesday, May 1 at 3 p.m. Both coaches came to the agreement on the new date Wednesday morning.
SFA has its attention on this weekend's five-game stretch in Houston at the University of Houston's Red & White Showcase. Mississippi Valley State out of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, tournament host Houston and the SWAC's Southern University await the Ladyjacks at the Cougar Softball Stadium.
SFA is scheduled to battle Mississippi Valley State at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Mar 2, followed by a primetime matchup with Houston at 6 p.m. On Saturday, March 3, the Ladyjacks will take on Mississippi Valley State once again at 12:30 p.m. and then Houston for a second time at 5:30 p.m. SFA will wrap up play at the Houston Red & White Showcase Sunday, March 4 with a 10 a.m. first pitch against Southern.
After this Wednesday's home opener was postponed, the Ladyjacks will have to wait one more week before hosting their home opener. SFA is slated to take on Prairie View A&M next Wednesday, March 7 in 4 p.m. first pitch from the friendly confines of the SFA Softball Field.
