Softball Opens Fall Season on Wednesday

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin softball team is set to begin its 2015 fall season on Wednesday afternoon when the Ladyjacks host Kilgore College for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. at SFA Softball Field. The twin bill marks the start of an eight-game exhibition schedule for the ‘Jacks with every contest taking place in Nacogdoches.
Following Wednesday’s battle with Kilgore, the Ladyjacks will take on Navarro College and Northeast Community College on Wednesday, Nov. 4 beginning at 11:30 a.m. On Sunday, Nov. 1, Paris Junior College will come to town for a 1:00/3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
SFA will wrap up its offseason slate on Saturday, Nov. 7 with another doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. against Tyler Junior College.
The competitive fall season will allow the Ladyjacks to prepare for their traditional 2016 spring season, which will begin in February. SFA returns a host of talented players from its 2014-15 roster, including seniors Alisa Hamilton, Heather Hollingsworth, Lindsay Campbell and Hannah Welch, while adding six freshmen.
