
Aggies Too Much for SFA

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The seventh-ranked Texas A&M Aggies were too strong for Stephen F. Austin as the recorded a 106-56 victory over the visiting Ladyjacks Wednesday evening in College Station. The loss drops SFA to 3-2 (.600) on the season, while Texas A&M improves to 4-0.
The Aggies utilized their advantage on the interior to take control of the game. Leading by only eight points with 11:36 remaining in the opening half, the Aggies went on a 23-2 run to take a commanding lead. The run was sparked by the Aggies advantage in the paint where they outscored SFA, 70-10.
Texas A&M took a 57-29 lead into the locker room and never looked back in the second half. The Aggies finished the game 42-of-73 (.575) from the floor, and outrebounded SFA, 50-37. The Ladyjacks finished the game with four players in double figures, led by Tammara Marion's 13 points. Senior Whitney Cormier scored 12, while sophomore Courtney Conwright added 11 points, and dished out a team-high four assists. Sophomore Schera Sampson finished the game with 10 points and a team-high five rebounds.
The Ladyjacks return to action Sunday when they return home to host Texas Southern. The game against the Tigers is slated to begin at 3 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum, and will be the Ladyjacks final home game until Jan. 9th.
