Walker Named Among Top 25 Players of Pre-NCAA Era

BRISTOL, Conn. - March Madness is just around the corner and the 2006 NCAA Championships will mark the 25th anniversary of the Women's NCAA Championship tournament. To commemorate the Silver Anniversary, ESPN.com has listed its top 25 players of the Pre-NCAA Era, which includes former Ladyjack Rosie Walker.
Walker was a two-year letterwinner for the Ladyjacks from 1978-80. During that time she guided the Ladyjacks to a 57-11 (.838) overall record. Walker was a two-time Kodak All-America selection, who was named to the 1980 U.S. Olympic basketball team. She finished her SFA career scoring 1,561 points and grabbing 802 rebounds despite playing only two seasons in a Ladyjack uniform.
Walker is currently ninth all-time in school history in scoring and holds the school's career (23.7 points per game) and single-season (26.0 ppg) record for scoring average. Walker also holds the school's single-season record for points with 912, which she set during her junior season. She is one of only five Ladyjacks to ever score 40 points in a game, and Walker accomplished that feat on three separate occasions. Walker was a 2001 inductee into the Women's College Basketball Hall of Fame.
