
Ladyjacks Host North Texas

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks, winners of five of their last seven, go in search of their fourth consecutive victory as they face North Texas tonight in the William R. Johnson Coliseum. SFA is 5-3 (.625) after a dominating performance against Tulsa Tuesday night. SFA led the Golden Hurricane by as many as 27 points before pulling off an 11-point victory. The Mean Green enters tonight's game with a 2-4 (.333) overall record, and looking to rebound from a 77-43 setback at UTEP Saturday.
The Coaches: SFA Ladyjack head coach Lee Ann Riley is 87-65 (.572) in her sixth season in Nacogdoches. She is 218-123 (.824) in her 12th season as a head coach. North Texas head coach Tina Slinker is 220-253 (.465) in 18 seasons in Denton.
SFA vs. the Mean Green: The Ladyjacks own a 27-2 (.931) all-time record against North Texas. The series dates back to the 1973-74 season where SFA recorded a 69-58 victory. SFA dropped a 71-65 decision to UNT last season in Denton to open the season, but prior to that the Ladyjacks had won 20 consecutive games.
Charity Tosses: Senior Charity Egenti continued her strong senior season Tuesday night against Tulsa. The Lagos, Nigeria, product scored a career-high 21 points and tied a career high with her 10 rebounds. It was Egenti's second double-double of the season, and it also marked the sixth time this season that Egenti has scored in double figures. Egenti scored in double figures a total of six times as a junior.
Forcing the Turnovers: The Ladyjack defense has been frustrating opponents all season. SFA forced Tulsa into 28 turnovers, which marks the fourth consecutive game that a Ladyjack opponent has turned the ball over at least 21 times in a game. The Ladyjacks are forcing their opponents into an average of 24.4 turnovers per game.
Like Thieves in the Night: The Ladyjacks recorded a season-high 19 steals in the victory over Tulsa. SFA is currently second in the Southland Conference averaging 13 steals per contest.
