
Softball To Take On McNeese State Thursday

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team (17-23, 7-11) returns to Southland Conference play Thursday with a doubleheader with McNeese State (14-31, 3-11), in Lake Charles, La. SFA had a non-conference doubleheader with Baylor rained out Tuesday afternoon.
SFA currently stands in a tie for seventh place in the SLC standings with a 7-11 (.389) mark, and are percentage points behind sixth place Southeastern Louisiana (6-9, .400) in the race for the sixth and final spot in the SLC postseason tournament field. The Ladyjacks have two series remaining following this week's three game set with McNeese State. SFA plays host to the University of Texas-Arlington next week and closes out the SLC regular season with a three game series with Southeastern Louisiana.
McNeese State is currently in ninth place in the standings with its 3-11 conference mark. The Cowgirls have lost eight of their last 10 games entering play Thursday and are coming off a three game sweep at the hands of Northwestern State.
