
Ladyjacks Rally to Beat Southeastern Louisiana

HAMMOND, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (3-14,3-4) picked up their first road win of the Year Saturday afternoon behind a strong performance from LaToya Mills. Mills posted a double-double with 12 points and 10-rebounds in leading SFA to a 69-64 win over Southeastern Louisiana (9-8,2-5). Mills was joined in double figures by Jennifer Simpson with 12 and Zedralyn Butler with 11 points.
SFA dominated play inside and outrebounded the Lions by a 50-33 count for the game. The rebounding edge, coupled with a .491 shooting percentage (27-55, enabled the Ladyjacks to overcome 28 turnovers on the day.
Southeastern Louisiana was forced into only 13 turnovers by SFA but shot only .297 (19-64) from the floor. The Lions did go the free throw line 30 times in the game, knocking down 21 to keep themselves in the game. SFA was 11-16 (.688) from the stripe.
SFA returns to action Thursday night against UT-San Antonio in the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and will be televised on FOX Sports Net.
