
Ladyjacks Beat Georgia State, 61-56

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Stacy Szymanski helped pace a balanced Ladyjack attack Wedensday night with a team high 12 points as SFA (6-4) beat Georgia State in the second round of the Double Tree Classic, hosted by Tulane University.
Jaliyla Muhammad and Britany Vinson added nine points each for the Ladyjacks as the scoring was spread among several players. SFA shot 39 percent from the field (22-56) for the game while holding Georgia State to only 33 percent (18-54) from the floor. Georgia State did hold a slight edge on the boards for the game.
SFA was solid at the line making 14 of 16 free throw attempts to help seal the win. Muhammad was clutch at the line with less than a minute remaining to give the Ladyjacks the final margin.
SFA returns to action Sunday, Jan. 2 against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, in Corpus Christi.
