A former WAC foe returns to Shelton Gym for a midweek matchup
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program is set to host three games this week beginning with a Tuesday night matchup against the Tarleton Texans.
WHERE TO TUNE IN
• Tuesday's match will be broadcasted on ESPN+ with Greg Miller and Brittany Castledine on the call.
ABOUT THE LADYJACKS
• Head Coach Debbie Humphreys secured her 850th career win in a five-set thriller against Abilene Christian on September 5.
• With John Cook (NEB) and Mary Wise (FLA) announcing their retirements over the summer, Coach Humphreys is now one of two active coaches in Division I to win over 800 matches and is the only active coach to win 800 at one institution. She has the second most wins among active DI coaches with 850.
SCOUTING TARLETON
• Tarleton enters the Pressure Cooker with a 4-4 record. The Texans have picked up wins over New Orleans, Texas Southern, Northwestern State, and Sam Houston.
• Jazmyne Johnson enters her first season as the Texans 19th Head Coach in program history.
• Junior outside, Madison Natori Rice-Locket leads the Tarleton offense with 93 kills (2.91 per set).
• Senior Megan Hodges and redshirt sophomore, Teya Nguyen have led the 6-2 offense for the Texans and have recorded 161 and 129 assists, respectfully.
• Redshirt senior, libero, Morgan Carter leads the Tarleton back line with 130 digs (3.94 per set).
• Senior middle blocker, Emma Burke leads the block with 41 blocks (1.24 per set).
SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the seventh all-time matchup between these two squads. SFA leads the series 5-1.
• The Ladyjacks are a perfect 4-0 at home and are currently riding a three-game winning streak.

• September 4th was the debut of the Debbie Humphreys Court at Shelton Gym. On May 3rd, 2025 the Debbie Humphreys Court at Shelton Gym was unveiled with a Taraflex® playing surface.
• The best surface in the world is now in Nacogdoches, and it will rightfully bear the name of one of the best volleyball coaches in the nation who has called SFA home for 37 years. What an honor for our current and future athletes to be able to play on this quality surface and to be coached by the one and only Debbie Humphreys. said Director of Athletics Micheal McBroom
• SFA will be the only school in the Southland to feature a Taraflex® court.
IN LIKE FLYNN
• At the Loyola Invitational, senior setter Jayden Flynn passed former teammate Maddy Bourque for eighth in All-Time Assists at SFA.
• Flynn currently has 2263 assists and is chasing Terri Sherrill who has 2431 career assists.
• Flynn also broke into the top 10 for career aces as well. She currently is tied for ninth with Stephanie Figgers at 141 aces.
RETURNEE RUNDOWN
• The 'Jacks return 84.58% of their offense and 77.24% of their defense from the 2024.
• SFA's 11 returning players accounted for 89.58% of sets played, 94.89% of kills, 72.06% of digs, 74.31% of assists, 96.72% of blocks, 78.33% of aces, and 91.36% of points scored.
• All three First Team-SLC Selections return for the 2025 season.
