
SFA Soccer Earns Southland Conference Superlatives and Team Awards

Sierra McCluer earns Goalkeeper of the Year; eight Lumberjacks named to SLC All-Conference Team.
GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR
Sierra McCluer earned Goalkeeper of the Year and SLC First Team All-Southland Goalkeeper after finishing the season leading the Southland in shutouts with nine in 1561 minutes, and ranking nationally at 13th for shutouts. Of those nine shutouts, two of them were recorded against Texas A&M and the University of Houston, recording a career high 10 saves against both opponents, to lead the program to its first-ever back-to-back shutouts against a Power-4 opponent, and going unbeaten. This season, she faced 235 shots, recording 75 saves, with 33 coming off SLC opponents, with a save percentage of 83.3%, second in the Southland and 41st in the nation, while allowing only 15 goals, second in the SLC. McCluer capped off the season with a 0.87 GA/AVG, notching her mark at 72nd in the nation. Against SLC opponents, she notched five shutouts, allowed only six goals, and had a season-wide mark of .500 for SHO/G, with one SLC Goal Keeper of the Week award this season.
FIRST TEAM ALL-SOUTHLANDSierra McCluer joins Bryn Geppert, Alexis Miller, and Brielle Buchanan in earning First Team All-Southland.
Bryn Geppert earned First Team All-Southland Defender after entering her first year with SFA this season. She started and played in 18 matches, recording 1578 minutes, and averaged 87 minutes a match and collecting nine shutouts and nine full 90-minute matches. Geppert recorded 90 minutes in both shutout matches against the University of Houston and Texas A&M to help the 'Jacks set a program history of shutting out two Power-4 opponents in back-to-back matches. Bryn earned two SLC Defensive Player of the Week awards this year, and recorded four shots with two goals and one assist, totaling five points, and a .500 shot on goal percentage, with a career-high two points in a single match this season. In her SLC slates, Geppert, as a defender, completed 77% of her passes and won 68% of all of her duels. Geppert held down the back-line for SFA, winning 77% of her defensive duels, 70% of loose ball matchups, and 50% on aerial duels against SLC matchups, while collecting seven blocked shots, 41 interceptions, and 37 clears.
Alexis Miller earned First Team All-Southland Midfielder after she started and played in all 19 matches for SFA as a newcomer, recording 1457 minutes and averaging 77 minutes a match, with an average of six miles per match as a true midfielder. In a single game, Miller recorded a career-high of two assists and recorded five multi-point matches in 2025. Overall, Miller scored four goals to lead SFA in goals as a midfielder, with five assists to sit at second in the SLC for assists by a midfielder this season, to add to 13 points on the year. For SFA, Miller resides in at least the top three for all six offensive categories on the team, and is tied second for goal scoring on SFA. She finished the season seventh for shots in the SLC and fourth in the SLC for assists with five. In Miller's SLC matchups, she finished 8th for shots on goal with 10, averaging one per match. She also finished 8th in the SLC for assists with three against other SLC opponents. Miller was 70% accurate on passes in SLC matchups, going 100% on tackles, with 23 corners served. Alexis went 80% on lateral passes, 91% on back passes, 72% on short and medium passes, 72% on progressive passes, and 100% on through passes. To add to her passing, Miller completed 11 deep passes, while adding five key passes, and 12 shot assists. On defense in the SLC, Lex won 68% of her defensive duels, winning 50% of her loose ball battles, with 28 interceptions and seven clears.
Brielle Buchanan earned First Team All-Southland Midfielder after starting in 19 matches for SFA this season, with 1466 minutes, and averaged 77 minutes a match. In her time here this season, she notched five goals, with four assists to tally 14 total points on the year. Buchanan sits in the top 10 for all six offensive categories in the Southland, at fourth for shots, fourth for shots on goal, eighth for goals, ninth for assists, ninth for game-winning goals, and 10th for points. Buchanan is also top 10 in four of the six offensive categories for SLC matchups, only for shots at sixth, fifth for shots on goal, eighth for goals, and 10th for points. In her SLC matches, Buchanan went 69% on defensive duels won, with 24 interceptions and seven clears, and one blocked shot. Brielle also created a force on offense, going 87% on back passes and 70% on forward passes with a 72% success rate on short and medium passes. She completed five deep passes with a 65% progressive pass rate and 2 key passes to create nine shot assists. For SFA, Buchanan leads in three of the six offensive categories, leading in goals, game-winning goals, and points.
SECOND TEAM ALL-SOUTHLAND
Taylor Dodson earned Second Team All-Southland Forward and is concluding her freshman year at SFA. So far this season, she recorded 12 stars and 1054 minutes, playing in 17 matches. In the year, she recorded five goals, three assists, and 13 points, tying first for goals at SFA, and sitting at ninth in the SLC for goals, and third in the Southland for freshman scoring. For points, she resides second for points in the freshman category, and 8th overall in the Southland at 13, and first against SLC opponents as a freshman. In the year, she took 28 shots and 16 shots on goal and recorded a game-winning goal. Dodson notched a career-high four points against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi to tie at first for the most points by a freshman in a game this season, and tallied all three of her assists against SLC opponents, with her first goal coming from the season opener against Sam Houston. Against SLC opponents, she went 72% on all passes, going 97% on back passes to set up SFA in their attacking third with five deep completions and two key passes, with 10 shot assists.
Logan Heausler earned Second Team All-Southland Forward. Heausler started in 18 matches for the Lumberjacks this season. In those 18 games, she recorded 1237 minutes, averaging 70 minutes a match, notching three goals and four assists, finishing at 10th in the SLC for assists, to hit 10 points on the year with eight against SLC opponents. Heausler is also one of the captains for the Lumberjacks, as she is in her first year at SFA. She leads the SLC in shots with 62 and is third in the SLC for shots on goal with 27. Against SLC opponents, she sits at fourth in the Southland for assists at four, and 43 of her 62 shots were recorded against SLC opponents. Matching up against SLC opponents, Heausler went 71% on dribbles, 92% on back passes, 65% on progressive passes, and 100% on through passes, logging five deep completions, five key passes, and 10 shot assists.
Sydney Williams earned Second Team All-Southland Defender after her second season with SFA, earning one SLC Defensive Player of the Week award, playing in 19 games, and starting in 17 of them. Williams played in 12 90-minute matches, with an eight-game streak of 90 minutes, with 1578 minutes this year. Williams assisted in nine shutouts for SFA, with her being a part of SFA's shutout against the University of Houston and Texas A&M to set history as the first time in program history for the Lumberjacks to shutout back-to-back Power-4 opponents and go unbeaten. Williams netted two goals with four points on the year and recorded 17 shots. She recorded three shots against Texas A&M, set a career-high of two goals in a season this year, and scored the game-winning goal against UTEP to win their first match of the year, and helped collect Ashley Whittemore's first career win as a head coach. Williams was vital to the Lumberjacks, completing 65% of her passes with a 67% dribble rate, keeping defenders off the ball. When squaring up against fellow SLC matchups, Williams went 61% on aerial duels, with six blocked shots, 46 interceptions with 32 clears, and one key pass.
Avery Brandt earned Second Team All-Southland Defender and is in her fourth year with SFA. Brandt started in all 19 matches for the Lumberjacks, recording 1390 minutes and three complete 90-minute matches. Avery Brandt collected two assists and two points and averaged 73 minutes a match. In her SLC matches, Brandt went 63% on duels won and went 75% on defensive duels. She disrupted offenses, gathering 39 interceptions and 12 clears. Brandt most notably played 75 minutes against Texas A&M and 90 minutes against the University of Houston, accounting for two of the nine total shutouts she was a part of on defense this year, as she helped set program history by shutting out back-to-back Power-4 foes and going unbeaten for the first time in SFA's history.
