NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks travel to Stillwater in their first road test at Oklahoma State. The Ladyjacks look to add to their win total after defeating Sul Ross in their last outing in a 6-0 victory.

SERIES HISTORY
Historically, the Cowgirls have been dominant in their encounters with SFA, holding a 5-0 series lead. In their last meeting on August 17, 2023, Oklahoma State secured a 4-0 victory against the Ladyjacks in Stillwater. This match provides SFA with an opportunity to challenge the trend and aim for their first win against the Cowgirls.
OKLAHOMA STATE
Oklahoma State opened its season with a 1-1 tie with Sam Houston. The Cowgirls found their go-ahead tally in the 12th minute with a goal from Gracie Bindbeutel. The Bearkats found the equalizer in the 40th minute over OSU off a free kick, leaving the match tied 1-1. The Cowgirls put up 10 shots in the first half with three on target.
At the final whistle, OSU totaled 24 shots and eight shots on goal with one save, allowing the Bearkats to notch two shots on goal. Adding to the intrigue of this match, Oklahoma State's team features Bryn Geppert, a former SFA Ladyjack who was an All-Southland First Teamer in 2025. Geppert's past performances with SFA include two goals in 22 matches in 1,603 minutes.
SIX GOAL SCORERS
In the Ladyjacks' season opener, SFA defeated Sul Ross 6-0. Savanna Oberholtzer, Alyce Chappelle, Carlei Thurmond, Kamryn Davis, Kensley Smith, and Lucie Platt all found their names on the scoresheet after 90 minutes. Chappelle, Smith, and Oberholtzer each recorded their first collegiate goal, as SFA totaled six goals and eight assists, totaling 20 points with 13 Ladyjacks contributing.
LITTLE FISH MAKES A BIG SPLASH
Savanna Oberholtzer started her collegiate debut by scoring the opening goal of the 2026 campaign. Oberholtzer recorded six shots with two on target, with her first shot hitting the woodwork, playing for 60 minutes against Sul Ross, being named Woman of the Match by Coach Whittemore. Although the freshman made her first collegiate start, Oberholtzer is no new name at SFA, as her father, Mark Oberholtzer, played for the SFA football team in 1993.
KAMRYNN DAVIS
Davis starts her sophomore season notching one goal and one assist against Sul Ross, setting a new career-high for points in a single match. Davis was recently named the 2026 TopDrawerSoccer Breakout Player of the Year for SFA after scoring two goals in her freshman year, one of which came during the 2025 SLC Tournament against host Lamar.
FRESHMAN GETS THE WIN
Freshman keeper Sydney Robinett earned her first collegiate victory in net after entering the match at the 30th minute and recording one save in 29 minutes.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
After SFA's season opener, the Ladyjacks ranked fourth in the nation for scoring offense in their opening match. The Jacks were the only mid-major team in the top five and were first in the state of Texas, with Baylor sitting at second place in the state.
SFA also finished the season opener tied at third with three other programs for the largest goal differential. The Ladyjacks were three goals behind first place and one goal away from being tied at second in the nation.
POWER-4
Last season, SFA faced two Power-4 opponents, both in Nacogdoches. Hosting both Houston and Texas A&M, the Ladyjacks held both teams to a scoreless 0-0 draw, marking the first time in program history to shut out back-to-back Power-4 opponents.
The Ladyjacks return to Texas A&M later this season, as they now add a new Power-4 opponent to the schedule, making a road trip to Stillwater for the sixth meeting with Oklahoma State.
LOOKING FOR 10
Head Coach Ashley Whittemore enters her second season as she now looks for her tenth career win this weekend. Whittemore currently holds a 9-4-10 career record with her debut season at the helm featuring eight wins and a 2025 SLC Championship appearance.

The Ladyjacks started the season off with a 6-0 victory over Sul Ross. This was the first time both sides met, as the Ladyjacks took a 1-0 advantage in the series. This match moved SFA to a 14-15-3 season-opener record, including a now 8-2-2 record when hosting season openers.
