SFA scores five second-half goals to secure shutout victory
The first half began with SFA applying consistent offensive pressure. Despite several attempts, including a shot by Savanna Oberholtzer that struck the left woodwork at 11:47, they struggled to find the back of the net initially. Defensive efforts by SRS goalie Avery Owen thwarted multiple shots, including saves on attempts by Cristina Rosito and Kamrynn Davis. Owen found herself defending 10 shots before the Ladyjacks found the first goal of 2026.
The breakthrough came at the 37:11 mark when Oberholtzer capitalized with a goal, recording her first collegiate score and the game-winning goal for SFA, assisted by Amélie Prié and Sydney Williams, giving the Ladyjacks a 1-0 lead before the half.
Alyce Chappelle ignited the scoring for SFA in the second half with a goal at 56:46, assisted by Kensley Smith. Carlie Thurmond followed with another goal less than six minutes later, aided by Chappelle's assist, extending the lead to 3-0. Davis further added to the tally at 67:01, with assists from Alexa Alvarez and Kylee Brown.
Smith tallied the fourth goal for the Ladyjacks at 70:10, with assists from Davis and Rosito, solidifying the home team's dominance. Lucie Platt capped off the scoring at 88:16, bringing the final score to 6-0.
Smith contributed significantly with one goal and one assist, finishing with two shots on goal. Chappelle mirrored this performance, also scoring a goal and providing an assist, while taking five shots, two of which were on target. Davis matched her teammates' efforts by scoring one goal and assisting another, with all three of her shots finding the target. Oberholtzer made a decisive impact by scoring the game-winning goal, taking six shots with two on target, as she was named the Woman of the Match.
