
Ladyjacks Begin 2025 Season in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla.- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack Tennis team (0-0, 0-0) kick-off their 2025 spring schedule as they travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to square off with the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (0-2, 0-0).
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
The Ladyjacks will look to start their 2025 slate off on a strong note and will return some key players from last year's squad that will no doubt bring valuable experience and leadership to a roster that will feature three new players this year. The 'Jacks will see returning juniors Felicia Back, Jemma Cave, Alkmini Giannakogiorgou, and Ksenia Mamontova, as well as sophomore Avery Kinsey all return this season with multiple of these ladies bringing some impressive accolades from last season on their resume. Last season, Ksenia Mamontova was crowned WAC Singles Player of the Week on two separate occasions, while Jemma Cave, Felicia Back and Ksenia Mamontova all brought home WAC Doubles Players of the Week honors for SFA last season. Joining the returning SFA players are sophomore transfer Ana Paula Chávez who joins SFA from Utah State, as well as two newcomer freshmen in Sonja Rooth and Antonella Taco.
Golden Eagles at a Glance:
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles will be looking to build off a 2023-24 season that saw them finish 7-14, while carrying a 3-3 conferece record last season. For the Golden Eagles, senior Arina Sorokina from Moscow, Russia was named to the Summit League Preseason Athletes to Watch List. The Golden Eagles have already leapt into their spring schedule for 2025 as they have squared off with both Tulsa and Central Arkansas as they look for their first win of the year against SFA.

Saturday's season opener for SFA will feature the seventh all-time meeting between these two tennis programs, with SFA leading the all-time series 5-1. The Ladyjacks won the most recent meeting between these two schools in March of 2023 when they defeated the Golden Eagles 4-3 in Nacogdoches.

TULSA, Okla.- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Tennis team (0-0, 0-0) close out their first weekend series of the 2025 spring season on Sunday morning against the hosting University of Tulsa Hurricanes (5-0, 0-0).
Hurricanes at a Glance:
The University of Tulsa Hurricanes, who are coming off a 14-12 record showing from last season, are off to an equally strong start in their 2025 spring schedule as they will carry a perfect 5-0 record so far this year. The Hurricanes hosted the Hurricane Invite two weeks ago and defeated Wyoming, Arkansas State, and Louisiana Tech all at home during the invite, before more recently defeating Oral Roberts and Central Arkansas last weekend at home.
Series:
Sunday morning's matchup between Tulsa and SFA will mark the second all-time meeting between these two programs, with Tulsa winning the only other matchup between the two schools back in 2012 when they defeated SFA 4-0 in Waco, Texas.
