NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin defeated Louisiana Tech 3-2 in a mid-week non-conference contest.
Kassidy Wilbur was magnificent in the circle. Wilbur tossed a complete game and scattered three hits, allowed two runs and two walks while striking out 12 batters.
La. Tech scored in the top of the second to gain a 1-0 lead, however, the Ladyjacks responded.
Hitting from the seventh spot in the lineup, Sydney Carithers's RBI single to right field knotted it up at 1-1. Moments later, leadoff hitter Camryn Middlebrook delivered an RBI single up the middle and SFA led 2-1.
Sydnee Hebert hit a home run in the fifth inning to extend the lead.
Hope Lusk and Mackenzie Bennett each added a hit.
The Ladyjacks return to action Friday and begin a three-game homestand versus Lamar.
