Stephanie Visscher Grabs Southland Conference Player of the Week Honors

Stephen F. Austin's Stephanie Visscher is the Southland Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Southland Conference weekly honors are presented by Hercules Tires.
Visscher has been a remarkable component for the Southland Conference Regular Season Champions (20-2, 11-0 SLC) all season, as her skill set showed through over the three-game span in wins against Central Arkansas, Northwestern State and Lamar. The junior guard averaged 17.0 points on 65 percent shooting (19-29 FG), in addition to contributing 4.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 4.0 steals and 1.6 blocks per game. She converted on 9-17 from 3-point land collectively, including a career-high eight assists at Lamar. On top of SLC honors, she was named the College Sports Madness Southland Conference Player of the Week as well.
"Steph is very deserving of this honor as she had a fantastic week and led our team to three wins and a regular season conference championship," says Head Coach Mark Kellogg. She continues to show her versatility on both ends of the court."
The Ladyjacks will be back on the court on Wednesday with the second-to-last regular season game against Abilene Christian. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m., with the Lumberjacks following at 8:00 p.m. at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
