SFA Rally Comes Up Short in Portland to Open Series with Pilots

RIDGEFIELD, Wash. -- The SFA baseball team came up short in its rally on Friday, coming up one run short of victory and falling to the Portland Pilots 3-2.

Junior Angelo Gennari (0-1) got the start on the mound for SFA (3-6), and took the loss. Sophomore Jaxon Covington was a bright spot for the 'Jacks, coming out of the bullpen and throwing two shutout innings, allowing one hit, with one walk and two strikeouts.

At the plate, the 'Jacks were paced by freshman Carson Clowers, who went 2-for-3 on the day.

GAME SUMMARY

The 'Jacks were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Junior Jared Martin came across to score the lone run of the inning for SFA and get them on the board.
