[UPDATED] Baseball's Purple vs. Black World Series Begins Thursday, Alumni Game Set for Saturday

SFA will play three games in annual intrasquad series
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin baseball team is set to begin its three-game Purple vs. Black World Series at Jaycees Field. The three-game series will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon with game two set for the same time on Friday at Jacyees Field. If necessary, the third and final game of the series will occur at 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
All fans are encouraged to come out to the Purple vs. Black World series and admission to each game is free. SFA assistant coaches Austin Hagy and Michael McCarry divvied the 'Jacks up into two squads via a draft system in order to make up the two teams. Following the conclusion of SFA's Purple vs. White World Series, the 'Jacks will hold their annual alumni game Saturday afternoon at Jaycees Field beginning at 4:00 p.m. Alumni weekend will begin Saturday morning with a golf outing at 8:00 a.m.
Last season, the 'Jacks posted a 29-28 record and advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament for the second-straight season. SFA posted wins over fourth-ranked TCU, perennial regional power Louisiana Tech and took two out of three regular season games against eventual Southland Conference regular season and Tournament champion Sam Houston State.
