NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Registration is open for the 2015 Stephen F. Austin Softball Summer Camp, held from June 8-10 at SFA Softball Field. The overnight camp will be offered for girls age 12-18 with instruction provided by head coach Gay McNutt and the Ladyjack softball coaching staff.
For overnight campers, the cost of the Jacks Summer Camp is $350. Commuters and one-day participants are welcome, with commuter registration costing $275 and a per day price set at $150. Meals, housing and transportation will be provided throughout the duration of camp for the overnight campers and a t-shirt and lunch will be provided to all campers. Camp will run from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
The Jacks Summer Camps are designed to develop skills beyond the basics. Skill work will include throwing, pitching, catching, baserunning, bunting, infield and outfield work, and mastering the swing. In addition to instruction throughout the day, this camp will offer game strategy considerations, vision training, mental training and speed/agility training concepts.
Campers will also have the opportunity to purchase a hitting analysis video of their swing, broken down by the SFA softball coaches. After recording the campers' swing and providing insightful feedback, the video will be sent out for a $40 fee.
Registration times, camp itineraries and general camp information will be sent prior to the June 8 check-in date.
