FOR STARTERS: SFA (11-15, 6-9) ends the regular season with three consecutive home games, beginning this Saturday when they host Northwestern State at 4 p.m. at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
LAST TIME OUT: The Sam Houston State Bearkats snapped a three-game losing streak by handing the Ladyjacks a 64-50 loss Wednesday evening at Johnson Coliseum. SFA had three players score in double-figures, including a team-high 12 points from sophomore center Porsha Roberts, but the Ladyjacks were unable to slow down the combo of Britni Martin (20 points) and Sequeena Thomas (14 points).
COVERAGE: Saturday's game will be video streamed and have live stats on sfajacks.com. The game will also be broadcast on Q107.7 FM with James Dixon on the call, as well as q1077.com. As always, Twitter updates will be provided throughout at @SFA_WBB.
HISTORY VS. NSU: The Ladyjacks hold a 49-18 all-time advantage over the Lady Demons, including a thrilling 57-50 overtime win in Natchitoches back on Jan. 26.
BENCH PRODUCTION: SFA has done a tremendous job all season of getting production off their bench and are averaging 22.5 points per game compared to just 11.4 from their opponents
ROBERTS LEADING THE WAY: Sophomore center Porsha Roberts is currently 7th in the SLC in scoring (14.6), 3rd in FG% (.594), 6th in rebounding (7.3), 4th in offensive rebounding (3.1-44) and 1st in blocked shots (1.6-22).
AVOIDING THE COLD START: SFA has struggled out of the gate in conference games this season, holding a halftime lead in just three of the 15 games thus far. Overall the Ladyjacks are just 3-13 this season when trailing at the half.
WHERE THEY STAND: The Ladyjacks are currently the seventh seed in the Southland Conference standings, but tied with NSU. However, the Ladyjacks hold the tie-breaker over the Lady Demons thanks to their win over NSU in January. The Ladyjacks are also just a half game back of 6th seed Central Arkansas. This season the top-8 teams in the conference make the league tournament in Katy, Texas with the top four seeds getting firstround byes.
