NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Ladyjack basketball team will look to rebound from its first loss in three games on Saturday when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a chance to clinch a berth in the upcoming Southland Conference Tournament.
SFA had won two in a row before falling, 79-63, on Wednesday at Lamar but still has a chance to hit the 10-win mark in league play before the start of the tournament. The Ladyjacks already have picked up a win over the Islanders this year, getting seven triples from Cheyenne Berry and forcing 31 turnovers on Jan. 29 in Corpus Christi en route to a 90-64 win at the American Bank Center.
The Ladyjacks could also watch as an individual mark is hit on Saturday as junior Tammara Marion needs just nine points to become the second Ladyjack in as many games to reach the 1,000-point plateau after senior Jordan Ford hit the mark in her 16-point effort on Wednesday at Lamar.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has struggled from the start of the season and is still in search of its first league win, having dropped each of its first 13 games to open Southland Conference play.
Saturday's game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. tip from the William R. Johnson Coliseum and can be followed via Gametracker or with live audio and video via SFA All-Access on www.sfajacks.com.
