FOR STARTERS
The Ladyjacks saw their seven-game win streak come to an end in their loss to Arkansas last Tuesday. The 7-0 record was the third-best start to a season in the program’s history. SFA still remains in first place in the SLC West and is tied with McNeese State for the best non-conference record.
LAST TIME OUT
Despite a game-high 20 points from Tammara Marion, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks were unable to overcome poor shooting and balanced scoring from the Arkansas Razorbacks, falling 61-46 Tuesday evening at Bud Walton Arena. SFA (7-1) saw their streak of seven consecutive wins to start the season come to an end, matching the third-best start in school history. Arkansas outscored SFA 28-18 in the second half after taking a 30-20 lead into halftime. The Ladyjacks shot just 28 percent on the night and committed 20 turnovers.
THE BRONCS
UTPA (3-7) has split their last four games, 2-2, having won both contests home and away against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Broncs have struggled offensively, averaging just 53.4 ppg and shooting 34 percent from the field.
THE SERIES
Stephen F. Austin has never lost to UTPA and leads the all-time series 7-0. Last season SFA defeated the Broncs 96-67 in Nacogdoches.

UP NEXT
The Ladyjacks will come back to Nacogdoches for a two-game homestand beginning with Arkansas State on Saturday, Dec. 17 followed by Rice on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
MARVELOUS MARION: Senior guard Tammara Marion had her third 20-plus point performance of the season on Tuesday, scoring 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting (4-of-8 3pt.) in the Ladyjacks 61-46 loss at Arkansas. After a slow start to the season, Marion has bumped her scoring average to 14 ppg and is averaging 20 ppg over her last four games. Marion is currently seventh in the Southland Conference in scoring and first in 3-point field goals made.
TOP TURNAOUNDS IN NATION: After a 12-18 record in 2010-11, the Ladyjacks have turned the page to a new era and their 7-1 record (87.5 winning %) is proof of that. In fact, SFA currently has the eighth biggest turnaround in the nation with a +47.5 in winning percentage compared to last season. North Texas (+61.1), Oregon St. (+55.7), Cincinnati (+54.7), Ole Miss (+51.2), Vermont (+50.0), Coastal Carolina (+48.8) and Wofford (+48.3) are the only other team’s to have a bigger turnaround thus far.
CONWRIGHT PILING UP THE DIMES: Despite struggling with her shot thus far, senior guard Courtney Conwright has found other ways to help her team, particularly in distributing the basketball where she is averaging a career-high and team-leading four assists per contest and has already tallied 32 total assists. Entering this season Conwright had averaged just 1.6 assists per game and had recorded 59 and 53 assists in each of the respective past two seasons.
