
SFA Travels to Corpus Christi

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (15-9-/10-3 SLC) survived a scare from Texas State Wednesday evening, but remain in the hunt for the Southland Conference title. SFA now heads to Corpus Christi, Texas, to face the Islanders in a showdown of second place teams. The Islanders are 18-8 (.692) on the season and enter the game with an identical 10-3 (.769) league record, only a game back of Lamar. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from the American Bank Center.
SFA vs. the Islanders: The Ladyjacks are 6-2 (.750) all-time against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. After dropping the fist two games of the series, SFA has now rattled of six straight and are undefeated against the Islanders since they joined the Southland Conference. SFA recorded a three-point decision, 66-63, in Corpus Christi during the 2007-08 season, which was the last time the two schools met in the American Bank Center.
Career Highs: Junior Chantol Drennan came off the bench to record a career night. She led SFA with a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds in only 20 minutes of action.
Double-Double: Junior Chantol Drennan recorded her first-career double-double Wednesday evening against Texas State. Drennan came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points and pull down a career-high 10 rebounds.
Offensive Rebounds: The Ladyjacks were able to overcome their first-half offensive woes Wednesday by attacking the glass. SFA continued to crash the boards throughout the game. The Ladyjacks tied a season-high with 25 offensive rebounds, which they converted into 25 points. It marks the third time this season that SFA has pulled down 25 offensive rebounds in a game.
Spreading the Wealth: The Ladyjacks did a great job of spreading the wealth against Texas State. SFA finished the game with five players in double figures. It is the fifth time this season that SFA has had five players score at least 10 points in a game.
Speed Limit 90: The Ladyjacks scored 95 points against Texas State. It is the fifth time this season that SFA has scored at least 90 points in a game. SFA has now recorded more 90-point game this season than it has in the previous five seasons. It is the most 90-point games by a Ladyjack squad since they recorded six in the 1997-98 season.
