NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team (5-2) will go in search of its third consecutive victory Sunday when they take on Tulane. The Green Wave enters Sunday's contest with an identical 5-2 (.714) record and has won three consecutive games. A win over Tulane would give SFA its longest win streak since the 2006-07 season. The game against the Green Wave is slated to begin at 2 p.m. from Fogelman Arena.
"I have a ton of respect for Lisa Stockton," said SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley. "She has been at Tulane a long time, and has always done a great job. She always has her teams ready to play. Tulane runs the triangle offense, and runs it well. You can always count on Tulane having one or two really good three-point shooters, and they are going to put pressure on the ball defensively. They are not going to beat themselves. We are going to have to play well, and take care of the basketball."
The Ladyjacks lead the all-time series against Tulane, 4-3 (.571), but the Green Wave have had all their success lately. After winning the first four meetings in the series, the Ladyjacks have now lost three straight. Sunday's contest will be the first meeting between the two schools since the 2007-08 season when Tulane recorded a 56-45 decision.
The Ladyjacks enter the contest clicking offensively. The Ladyjacks have averaged 87 points in their last two games, and have scored at least 81 points four times this season.
