
Ladyjacks Set to Battle Prairie View A&M

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team (3-6) will look to post another notch in the win column Thursday night as they prepare to face Prairie View A&M. The Lady Panthers enter tonight's game with a 3-7 (.300) overall record. Prairie View A&M has won two of its last three games, but is coming off an 80-68 loss at UTEP two night's ago. The Ladyjacks have faced two other opponents from the Southwestern Athletic Conference this season, and have won both games.
SFA Ladyjack head coach Lee Ann Riley is 107-80 (.572) in her seventh season in Nacogdoches. She is 238-138 (.633) in her 13 seasons as a head coach. Prairie View A&M head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke is 29-42 (.408) in her third season with the Lady Panthers.
The Ladyjacks are a perfect 3-0 all-time against Prairie View A&M. The last meeting between the two schools came during the 2000-01 season when SFA recorded a 67-52 victory. SFA recorded an 87-47 decision in the 1998-99 campaign and followed that up with a 77-45 victory the following season.
The Ladyjacks will return to action following the Christmas break when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take on the Golden Hurricane. The game against Tulsa is slated to begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, from the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
